Founded in 2005, the WorldofMoney.org is a New York City based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to empower underserved youth with a sound financial foundation. Now more than ever this organization is needed to break a generational cycle and to change the way youth, Young Moguls (ages 7 – 11); Moguls (ages 12-18), view money by equipping them with 5 tenets for a financially responsible life: learn, earn, save, invest and donate.
The Money Track curriculum includes: wealth consciousness, money creation, disciplined savings, stock market investing, real estate investing, mutual funds, credit, mortgages, home-ownership, business etiquette et al. The 2010 WorldofMoney.org Summer Youth Financial Education Training Institute graduated 85 enthusiastic young people. In addition, a Parent “Money Matters” workshop, Community Morning of Service and Real Estate Tour is conducted. In 2009, a Business School was launched for Institute graduates.
World of Money is committed to its mission of improving the financial literacy and business acumen of underserved youth from low-income families. The Jump $tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy tested High School Seniors on financial literacy and found that low-income, African American and Hispanic students scored lower than higher income students and white students.
