Charity Spotlight: The Inspiration Amongst Manifestation (I.A.M.) Project

Based inInglewood, CA, The Inspiration Amongst Manifestation (I.A.M.) Project has a vision to break the cycle and culture of poverty for so many families.

I.A.M Project is an organization that encourages teens to focus on what’s most important before becoming fully functional citizens; discovering who they are! Through creative writing and self expression participants are challenged through life coaching, critical thinking, vocabulary improvement and group activities to identify with their strengths, embracing their purpose and building from a platform from a blueprint they learn to establish. The project promotes multiple literacy programs to teens and young adults, ranging from ages 14 to 19.

“If you allow your problems to come between you and your purpose, then your problems become closer to your purpose than you are.” -Michael McGrew

Founded December, 2013 by Michael McGrew, owner of Legacy Publishing Group LLC in Los Angeles. While touring schools as a speaker, Michael began to notice a need for students to understand that literacy doesn’t only consist of reading books but improving personal success through self-improvement based on personal desires to accomplish goals. A firm believer of Self accountability, Michael McGrew’s passion to incorporate literacy with goal setting to achieve success flourished after the I AM Project organization.

Being literate on all levels allows people to have better control of their futures.  Families and individuals can break the cycle of poverty. The end result of their programs is to provide lower income students with the necessary tools to thrive in the real world. The organization is sponsored by Challenging Minds Charter School and considered a 501(c) (3) charitable foundation.

The mission of the I Am Project is dedicated to advocating literacy, entrepreneurship and self-accountability by inspiring the youth to aim high and respect intelligence along with them-selves for the most part. It is our goal to strengthen communities and households throughout the country, and the world with intentions to convert followers into leaders and inferior minds into innovative thinkers.
