EU BAND FEATURING SUGAR BEAR FLYER-page-001

Coalition for the Homeless, a non-profit organization in Washington DC is hosting their 3rd annual Stepping out for the Homeless® dance. Created in 1979, almost 35 years later, the Coalition continues to establish activities and solutions in the community to help eliminate homelessness. The Coalition’s efforts are focused on housing, employment and direct services. Their mission is to help transition homeless and at risk individuals and families to self-sufficiency through housing programs and supportive services. The Coalition fulfills its mission by operating and managing 11 program sites, including the Virginia Williams Family Resource Center, the central intake office for all families in the District of Columbia seeking emergency housing assistance and shelter. Each year, the Coalition changes hundreds of lives.

This Friday, November 6th hundreds will gather for a cause; Proceeds from the event will enable the Coalition to help homeless citizens currently living in transitional housing programs with security deposits, utility payments, rental assistance and other kinds of support to help them transition to permanent housing. There is no one size fits all when helping people to stabilize their life and get back on their feet. The Coalition will feature legendary Go-Go artist Sugar Bear and E.U. (Experience Unlimited). The National Hand Dance Association’s will have a demonstration of hand dance from the 1950’s and 60’s.  Guests will enjoy hosted food and drinks, the opportunity to win door prizes and more.
