Harlem Hospital Center and The Journey to Healing Foundation to Host Men’s Health Conference

You are cordially invited to join Harlem Hospital Center along with Columbia University Institute for Research in African American Studies and The Journey to Healing Foundation is hosting The Mind, Body and Spirit: Men’s Health & Wellness Conference and Fair. This will be a gathering of thought leaders, healthcare professionals, community advocates and healthcare vendors discussing important topics as they relate to men’s health. Areas of particular focus are: Primary Care, Mental Health, Financial and Spiritual Health.

The event will honor the following luminaries: Former Governor David A. Paterson, Shawn Dove (CEO of Campaign for Black Male Achievement), Pastor Alfonso Wyatt (Vice President and Project Director of the Jericho Faith-Based Technical Assistance Project) and Jason Davis (Parent Consultant on Youth Self-Inflicted Injuries). In addition to lectures, workshops, and panel discussions, guests will experience Journey To Healing’s “Art Healing”. Art Healing is a practice that initiates the healing process through various artistic mediums; song, video presentations, dance, and music.

The Conference takes place in June, which is Men’s Health Month, to spotlight efforts being made to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.  Performances and Speakers includes: Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rapper, Donny Goines, Visual Artist, Stephanie Whitaker, Urban Word Poets, Charisa the Violin Diva
Motivational Speaker, June Archer, Billy Davis, AIDS/HIV Activist, Maria A. Davis and more.
