I was really hurt yesterday when I learned from my best friend that Dr. Maya Angelou had passed away, I could have cried. She has been a part of my life in some form or fashion since my days in school, learning in creative writing her poems to reciting them for my talent in my coronation pageant. She was no doubt one of the greatest women in our history and will forever be remembered in our hearts.
