When we planned our fall cause campaign, we knew that when women of color escape, often with their children to domestic violence shelters, they are met with limited supplies to rebuild. One of the supplies, shelters expressed to us they needed most, was hair care items. Often hair supplies are limited to travel size conditioner and shampoo and combs. When women make the decision to escape, the process of healing and transitioning can begin. We want to do our part in making women in shelters look and feel great by providing them with new hair care products and supplies to make them feel and look as beautiful as they are!
Since October we have collected nearly 7,000 items which will we bag up and ship in beauty boxes to shelters across the country. Our sorting party will take place on Monday, December 9th at 7pm at SNOB LIFE Studio in Atlanta, GA hosted by Celebrity Hair Stylist and Beauty Mogul Ming Lee! We’ll provide some sweet treats, music, giveaways and beverages and we need you to provide your helping hands. If you would still like to make a donation, we are in need of combs, brushes, ponytail holders and shower caps.
