Chrisette Michele, during the past year, went to Iraq and stayed and lived in the barracks with the soldiers to increase moral.

Her mother is a stroke survivor, driving the impetus behind Michelle’s dedication to time campaigning for heart stroke victims to make blacks aware of the impact of high blood pressure and how it impacts their lives. Chrisette encourages us to eat a healthy diet, exercise and visit the doctor at least once a year.

Earlier this year Michele visited the Washington, DC School of the Arts several times and campaigned to keep the school open which was threatened to be closed. The school is still open many thanks to Michele’s hard work. Chrisette says “music impacts the lives of youth as it did her and the detrimental impact of closing such a needed institution would be forever felt.”

The giving continued as Michele took her giving efforts to some of Detroit’s dire areas visiting schools and talking to high school students encouraging them to stay in school. Michele has served in soup kitchens in Georgia, feeding the hungry. These things she did while on tour all without any monetary benefit.

Did you know?
Chrisette received an award from the American Heart Association (AHA) for her campaign for awareness of heart stroke prevention.

Your probably wondering, why you have never heard of all the good deeds Michele is actively involve in. Chrisette Michele did all this not for publicity, but because of dedication to and love for her people.

“I am all about giving back, whenever I’m in a city if there’s an opportunity to give back, I’m there. I especially love talking to kids.”

So BCG friends, next time Chrisette Michele is in your city, look for her to be giving back and consider her for your next charity event or a chance to speak with your nonprofit program participants.

BCG gives Chrisette two thumbs up on her giving efforts, keep up the good work in 2012!
