Charity Spotlight: Aniz, Inc.

Aniz, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) community-based organization established in 1996 with a mission to provide holistic therapeutic, education and prevention services for children and families in the Metropolitan Atlanta area and the five major counties. The initial agency focus included women, youth and children who were HIV/AIDS infected/affected with substance abuse histories and/or underlying mental health conditions.

Since its inception, Aniz, Inc. has expanded to incorporate more comprehensive programs addressing the full continuum of risk behaviors impacting the health and stability of women and children. In order to accomplish the mission, the organization provides supportive and therapeutic service interventions utilizing innovative and culturally-appropriate curricula. The agency vision—to serve the psychosocial needs of intergenerational women and youth—is anchored by the core value to plant and nurture powerful seeds of healing, growth and potential for urban African American females.

Aniz, Inc.’s organizational/human capacity consists of professionally licensed clinicians, master level social workers, health educators, interns from Clark Atlanta University and in-kind volunteers who provide risk-reduction and health education in Atlanta.
