{Throwback Thursday} Charity Spotlight: Fathers Incorporated

Created in 2004 Fathers Incorporated is a phenomenal organization that uses the promotion and marketing of responsible fatherhood to make a difference. They have created a five year mission, that is being set forth in order to change the societal and cultural outlook of families. The messages and information that they have created and set forth will help to create strong families and encourage and empower active and positive parents. Their international, national, and local focus will raise the awareness about father absenteeism and the impact of a father’s absence on our society.
In 2011, Fathers Incorporated was inspired by President Obama’s 2010 Fathers Day address. Along with other sponsors they sought to proclaim 2011; The Year of Responsible Men (YORM). This grave recognition assists in targeting the need to encourage and support responsible fatherhood and mentoring.

Along with many other initiatives of Fathers Incorporated, the Ties Never Broken Campaign may be one of their most prominent. This campaign was a written declaration between a father and child, put in place in order to confront negative attributes in some men. In order to be able to change them into positives and created a framework for powerful fathers!

Fathers Incorporated is hosting its 2nd Annual Image Awards Dinner at Medgar Evers College tomorrow night, January 25th in Brooklyn, New York. At the dinner the organization recognizes individuals who play critical roles in the field of responsible fatherhood and mentoring. “We are excited to honor this year’s awardees. “This issue of fatherlessness is having a profound effect on the outcomes of our children.
