Charity Spotlight: Sweet Serenity, Inc. Champions Hunger by Providing Free Hot Meals to Those in Need!

Sweet Serenity (SSI)I am often asked which causes I’m most passionate about and in all honesty it’s so hard for me to choose  just one; however without a doubt high on the list for me is hunger. More than 1 in 5 children is at risk of hunger and among Blacks and Latinos, it’s 1 in 3. So excuse me if we are ever out to dinner and I encourage you not to waste your food. Hunger is a real problem and often it’s right outside your door. Meet today’s charity spotlight  Sweet Serenity (SSI), Inc. is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, GA that distributes hot nutritious meals to the homeless, elderly and children.

SSI, Inc. is dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty within our communities where it’s needed the most.  SSI also offers a financial assistance program, which provides emergency financial assistance toward utility bills in winter months for low income families that meet requirements.  All services are provided at no cost to clients, regardless of race, religion, national origin, sexuality, color, age, veteran or disability status.

Recently  the organization started a fundraiser Removing The Homeless From The Streets – Providing Shelter/Meals/Help  to raise funds for their emergency assistance program,their goal is to raise $50,000.00 by June’2013.

    There is no greater cause at this time in America.  There are hundreds of thousands of homeless people and many are going with out food on a daily basis.  We live in a very wealthy nation and those in the upper 1% need to give generously.  We can all make a difference in their lives by giving something.
