Charity Spotlight: The Heart of Gold Foundation, Inc.

The Heart of Gold Foundation was established in 2010 by HBCU graduate Clarissa E. Pearson. Clarissa, who was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia at the age of three months and is to familiar with living a life with a Chronic Illness. After a lifetime of battling with such as devastating disease, it wasn’t until recently that she decided that while there are many programs that allow the dreams of chronically sick children to come true the same is not prevalent for adults.

It was in 2010 that Clarissa realized that chronically sick children will eventually grow into chronically ill adults. The only difference is that as an adult you are often expected to care for yourself. But, for those adults that battle a chronic illness it is the little things that are the hardest to achieve.

The heart of gold foundation,Inc, is a fresh, new, non- profit organization that was developed to fulfill the wishes of adults that battle with chronic or debilitating diseases. From sickle cell, to cancer, to lupus, we are here to help. Whether, the adult was born with an illness or developed an illness late in life, it is our goal to provide them with a chance to escape and for one day forget being sick. We are here and no matter what, we won’t let go.
