Recently BCG reporter, Lauren Martinez sat down to chat with the legendary actor and activist Danny Glover at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
The event was a collaborative effort between Georgia Student Justice Alliance (GSJA), Concerned Students for a Better Nissan (CSBN) and humanitarian and activist Danny Glover. The Nissan Truth Tour showcased artists from Georgia State University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College while creatively highlighting the stories of the Nissan workers by bringing full circle the importance of workers’ rights in the longevity of social justice.
The Nissan Truth Tour shared the stories of Nissan workers at two plants (Canton, MS and Smyrna, TN) where the company intimidates workers and creates a climate of fear against those who want a fair election to decide whether they want to unionize. The tour was a phenomenal way of getting young people across the nation involved in taking action.
