Giving was Good this past weekend, B.98’s Madison James and 11 Alive’s Demarco Morgan hosted the 4th annual GET FIT! Riverdale – 5K Run/Walk held at the Riverdale Town Center.
Produced by the City of Riverdale’s Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon & Councilmembers, the GET FIT! Riverdale – 5K Run/Walk raised awareness and funding for school supplies to benefit “underserved” families in the community. Riverdale council member, Wanda Wallace states her objectives for the GET FIT!Riverdale – 5K Run/Walk initiative are community involvement, health education, and to increase the dialogue with local & state government to make sure each and every child deserves to have access to the school supplies needed to learn thereby keeping their minds and bodies active. Councilwoman Wanda Wallace was also presented with a proclamation and senate resolution by State Senator Donzella James and to commend her continued efforts in making Riverdale healthy.
The proceeds of the GET FIT!Riverdale – 5K Health & Fitness will benefit the school supply bank for the public schools of Riverdale, GA. For more information visit www.riverdaleculture.com.
