Diddy Saves the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem!

Sean Combs grew up in Harlem and gives credit to the historically artistic community for influencing his musical career. Hip hop mogul, actor, fashion designer, international superstar and founder and creator of Bad Boy entertainment is giving back to Harlem!

The Boys & Girls Club of Harlem is part of a nationwide affiliation of local organizations working to help young people of all backgrounds develop the qualities that they need to become responsible citizens and leaders. They are dedicated to youth development by providing access and opportunities for young people in their community regardless of economic, social and family circumstances.

Because of changes to federal, state and private funding, the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem was slowly dying. But with a considerable donation from Harlem native Diddy, they were given another chance.

“Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and club sites,” Boys & Girls Club of Harlem board member, Willie C. Bentley, Jr. said in a statement. “100% of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted.”
