EVE Joins in for ‘Hip-Hop Homecoming’ at Big Brothers Big Sisters’ National Mentoring Month Event

eveIn honor of National Mentoring Month, Grammy Award winning recording artist EVE will announce her new partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest non-profit youth mentoring organization.  As part of the exclusive “hip-hop homecoming” appearance, EVE will debut her soon-to-be released single, “Make it Out this Town.”  EVE is incorporating the overcoming-the-odds anthem in her support of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ fundraising and recruitment work.   Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children in single-parent homes, low-income families, or households where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. Studies find the long-term mentoring model helps kids improve in school, their behavior and their self-esteem.

The announcement will take place at a VIP pre-event reception the evening before Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Mentoring Partners in Action: Successful Children and Safer Communities forum. The first-time National Mentoring Month event will focus on how mentoring helps youth who are at high-risk of delinquency overcome adversity to succeed in school and life. The reception, sponsored by Lifetime TV will recognize former Little Brother Josh Shipp, host of Lifetime’s Teen Trouble, and other Big Brothers Big Sisters alumni.
