Ludacris Makes Giving Back to the Community the Primary Focus of Annual LudaDay Weekend!

Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges, Disturbing Tha Peace Records, Ebony Son Management, and The Ludacris Foundation have partnered with Soul by Ludacris headphones to present the 7th Annual LudaDay Weekend. The festivities will be held on August 30th-September 3rd during Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta, GA. In year’s past, celebrities and key influencers from all over the world have lent their time and talents to support the community initiatives and activities surrounding this annual event.

Ludacris shares his sentiments on the weekend stating, “there’s always tons of surprises, celebrities, and nightlife activities, but the focus of LudaDay Weekend has always been, and always will be, on giving back to the community…we’re 7 years in and counting, with each year reaching new heights!”

LudaDay Weekend has executed several community initiatives in year’s past including;  inviting hundreds of youth to a complimentary Braves baseball game at Turner Field,  giveaway of 20 new cars to underprivileged families, donations to Mayor Kasim Reed’s Centers for Hope, donations to Morehouse College, and the list goes on…

Supporters of LudaDay Weekend over the years include; Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Justin Bieber, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Ciara, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Nelly, Larenz Tate, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Tyrese,  Bow Wow, Polow da Don, Terrence J, La La Anthony,Vin Diesel, Paul Walker,  Keshia Knight Pulliam, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, Estelle, Lance Gross, Teyana Taylor, Tika Sumpter, and many, many more!

My first Luda Day Weekend is like your freshman year icebreaker. My BGSU alum and Toledo alumn should get that.  It will certainly be dynamite! In all seriousness though Atlanta has many Black Philanthropic Endeavors and “Luda Day Weekend” may be one of the biggest and most popular events of Labor Day Weekend. I’m a fan of good deeds and a lot of the proceeds and persons that have volunteered their time and are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. I call them BCG warriors and thank them for going above the call of excellence that we seek out in entertainers.

The trash talking started early when Ludacris responded to a Kevin Heart tweet about kicking Team Luda’s a** in the annual charity basketball game.

Just read @KevinHart4real last tweet to me… Negro obviously just woke up from a good dream! LOL.

It should be all fun and games but the real story line behind the week filled events is the charities and non profits that will be  highlighted during the events. In my short time spent in Atlanta I’ve been very very lucky thanks to BCG and Jasmine Crowe to meet some outstanding people that embody the spirit of giving. It’s funny that some of the same organizations I write about and persons I’ve met are being recognized as well like Josh Powell, Frank Ski, Boys and Girls Club, and other exemplary organizations.

This year, Ludacris has made a commitment to highlighting local charities that support the city of Atlanta, including Frank Ski Kids Foundation, Inc., Keshia Knight Pulliam’s Kamp Kizzy, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton’s Big Kidz Foundation, Josh Powell’s 21 Reasons Foundation, Get Schooled.org, Do Something, Ryan Cameron Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta. After having met some of these people I can understand why Ludacris is highlighting these organizations. Frank Ski just returned from the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador.

Josh will be going with Ludacris to Dobbs Elementary School to promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle through great diets and exercise. He is also supporting the weekend by encouraging and spreading the message about the importance of giving back. The most important thing no matter where you are in life is to give back to communities where you grew up which both Josh and Ludacris are committed and sincere about doing. Of course he is giving of his time more than anything by participating in great events such as the celebrity basketball game and the campus takeover. The 21 Reasons to Give Foundation supports organizations that make meaningful impacts.
