Michael McGrew Promotes Literacy with Guinness World Records

e578c772ce5504a5b5a2ff1d88ad7d20Los Angeles based author Michael McGrew is on the brink of accomplishing the Guinness World Records  for most books signed in a single day. The event will take place in the spring of 2013, which is due to attract political leaders, cynic organizations and business personnel. In the midst of this campaign, Michael has hosted a series of community events which center around issues within the community.

Aside from being an author, Michael is also a motivational speaker and is currently making the community aware of why adult literacy is important in the community. According to the National Adult Literacy Survey given by United Way, as of the year 2000, a majority of adults in Los Angeles County have literacy skills too limited to meet the demands of today’s labor market. The City of Los Angeles ranks highest for sheer number of low literacy adults with 1, 670, 000. Other cities with large low-literacy numbers include Long Beach (166,000), Pomona (56,000), Glendale (53,000) and El Monte (42,000).

Michael is on a quest to lower those rates. In addition to his speaking engagements, he along with two of his colleagues have started a vision board entitled, “Nspire2win”, which will inspire others to put their dreams and visions to action.
