Rihanna Gives Back to Hurricane Sandy Victims!

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many A-listers have taken their names and put them to good use. Though the storm hit landfall almost two weeks ago, people are still reeling from the devastation it caused, and one of those said A-listers, Rihanna, gave back in a big way.

The singer unexpectedly showed up at a club Friday night (Nov. 9), to deliver a ton of necessary goods and supplies to the NY Daily News Hurricane Sandy relief drive.

The 40/40 club was in the midst of playing RiRi’s new album ‘Unapologetic’ when she showed up unannounced. Immediately fans, who were busy getting down to her latest hits, began simultaneous chanting her name to express their gratitude.

“I’m so excited,” she said to the newspaper, while shaking fans’ hands and giving out hugs. “I didn’t know all these people were coming, but it’s all for a good cause.”

Before the listening party even took place, she sent a message out to her Navy, urging them to donate “tools to move forward from this terrible tragedy.”

“Hurricane Sandy has deeply affected the lives of millions all across the Eastern Seaboard,” wrote Rihanna in an email to the New York based newspaper. “Many are still without power, heat, and the basic supplies necessary to rebuild in the aftermath of such a horrific event.”

“Now is the time for us to come together and do whatever we can to aid those in need,” continued the singer, who already pledged to donate 1,000 sleeping bags to the cause.

The donations from Rihanna and her fans at the listening party were then loaded on to a NY Daily News truck, and delivered to the most hard-hit areas affected by the storm.

Good for you, RiRi!
