In addition, we are more likely to suffer complications from diabetes, such as end-stage renal disease and lower extremity amputations. Although we have the same or lower rate of high cholesterol as our white counterparts, we are more likely to have high blood pressure. There are an infinite amount of discrete changes that everyone can make in order to reduce their of getting diabetes.
