TV One Green Lights Acclaimed Docu-Series Find Our Missing for a Second Season!

TV One has given the green light to a second season of its acclaimed docu-series Find Our Missing, announced today by Toni Judkins, Executive Vice President Original Programming and Production.  The 2011 National Association of Black Journalists’ Best Practices Award winner is scheduled to return to TV One’s line-up in January 2013.
 
Find Our Missing, hosted by Emmy and Golden Globe award winner S. Epatha Merkerson is designed to put names and faces to people of color who have disappeared without a trace. Each episode tells the story of the missing person or persons, beginning with the day they vanished and the frantic searches by loved ones and investigators to find them. Episodes will chronicle the investigations into their disappearances, and delves into the mystery surrounding the disturbing circumstances.
In its second season, Find Our Missing will continue its partnership with the Black and Missing Foundation. Inc. (BAMFI), to raise further awareness and attention for the plight of the missing.  Tvone.tv will use BAMFI’s alerts and latest updates about recent missing person cases, as well as other content supplied by the organization including tips on how to prevent abductions. The BAMFI will also help to promote the show via their site and social media platforms. TV One will continue to complement Find Our Missing on-air with social media and online content on Tvone.tv that will share important information on what to do if someone is missing and offer additional stories of lost people, and those who have been found.
 
“TV One saw unprecedented response to this series which resonated strongly with audiences and the media in terms of how the issue of missing Black Americans has been traditionally addressed,” remarked Toni Judkins, Executive Vice President Programming and Production. “We are pleased to partner once again with the Black and Missing Foundation to bring these compelling stories to our viewers and hopefully bring some closure to those struggling with missing persons in their lives and communities.”
S. Epatha Merkerson, best known for her long-running role on Law & Order, has won critical acclaim for her work in theatre, television and film. She received Golden Globe, Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, NAACP Image and Gracie Allen Awards and an IFP Spirit nomination for her leading role in the HBO film, Lackawanna Blues. She is also a two-time Tony Award nominee, most recently for her lead role in the 2008 Broadway revival,Come Back Little Sheba. She can next been seen in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, the comedy We The Peeples and recently wrapped production on The Challenger with the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
