Beyonce, Cee Lo and More Nominated for the 2011 Do Something Awards; Cast Your Vote Now!


Beyonce’s God Bless the USA is nominated in the Charity Song category for the 2011 Do Something Awards!

The Do Something Awards have grown steadily since 2007, being seen on both The CW and as a part of the 2008 and 2009 Teen Choice Awards. Celebrity presenters & participants have included: Usher, Nick Cannon, Akon, and more.

Do Something is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people take online social action offline. Their upcoming awards show will honor those doing their part to give back. Hosted by GLEE’s Jane Lynch, 2011 nominees include: David Beckham for his work with UNICEF and Malaria No More, Chris Rock for his charity Journey for Change, Lady Gaga for her LGBT rights work and many more.

But it’s not just the celebrities who will win big at this year’s award show, it’s the outstanding young community givers who have put forth their best foot forward for a cause near and dear to them. Check out all of the finalists here. Each of these finalists were honored for his or her commitment to social action with a community grant of $10,000. Of these five nominees, Do Something, Inc. with the help of your votes will select a grand prize winner which will receive a $100,000 grant for his or her cause during the live VH1 broadcast of the ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium.
