Meet today’s BCG Charity Spotlight: IMANEE of Cambria Heights, New York founded by Lauren Jackson, the organization’s mission is to empower and be a catalyst for positive transformation in the lives of young women from all walks of life. IMANEE stands for Instilling My Ability to Naturally Embrace Excellence and was designed to empower and develop the leader that resides in young people from all walks of life. IMANEE  is here to encourage young women to live beyond their potential in spite of their individual circumstances. By utilizing an innovative and interactive curriculum, IMANEE seeks to provide an atmosphere for young women to discuss their views on all aspects of life and society. The organization strives to focus on the importance of self-confidence, self-awareness, community service and academic achievement. IMANEE is committed to helping young people recognize and embrace their excellence. Each month the organization hosts workshops for young girls, topics and class discussions include: My Sister’s Keeper which is dedicated to discussing the importance of sisterhood and Reality Check where the organization shines a light on the positve and negative images that our society presents as “women.” Through these workshops girls participate in what is called The IMANEE Journey – through the workshops, the IMANEE participant can expect to: Have the opportunity to discover their true gifts and aspirations, Understand the significance of creating vision boards, Come into contact with young female entrepreneurs, Experience weekend adventures to broaden their horizon and Gain the tools that will help them be an inspiration to their peers.

I’m loving it! Our girls need us and I speak to all women who read this post as we all have the power within us to empower a girl, and you know what they say, when you empower a girl, you empower a nation.
