Charity Spotlight: Southern Africa Embrace Foundation

Southern Africa Embrace Foundation is an International Charitable Organization founded in the year of 2010 in Toronto, Canada. We are committed to advocating, supporting and promoting the well-being of marginalized women and children/orphans (0-16yrs) in the Southern African countries of Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Republic of South Africa and Zimbabwe. We aspire to empower, educate and facilitate a better life style to women and children who are faced with a daily struggle in their society to survive against poverty, abuse, hunger, homelessness, illiteracy and disease. We sponsor and work in collaboration with selected clinics, shelters, educational organizations, orphanages, religious organizations, NGO’s, individuals and corporate firms in and outside the countries we provide our services to. SAE Foundation believes in equality for all regardless of sex, religion, ethnicity, status, age and educational background. Our organization is founded and stands firm on the principles of equality for all, compassion, love, dignity, care and respect for each life/persons.

Vision: SAE Foundation envisions a strong alliance of Southern African women and children of today and the future who live in sustainable communities, are self reliant, empowered, prosperous and confident individuals with open access to life potential opportunities.

Mission: To help in the eradication of poverty, abuse, hunger, homelessness, illiteracy and disease by advocating, supporting and promoting the well-being of marginalized women and children (0-16yrs) in Southern Africa.

The organization’s final focus is on the prevalence of HIV/AIDS, as Southern Africa represents the most heavily affected area in the world. The affects of the disease are widespread and impact not only individuals and families but also the infrastructure of these countries. Agriculture, education and other industries are also heavily affected because of the intensity of this pandemic caused by lack of knowledge of the disease, stigma, ignorance, unlimited financial resources available for Anti retro-viral medications, high cases of rape in women and cultural blockages prohibiting the use of protection during sexual intercourse. Their programs on HIV/AIDS work with international donors, organizations and institutions to provide healthcare, medicine, and support to those living with HIV. As well, they support awareness and education programs to help reduce the number of cases as well as the stigma currently surrounding issues of the disease. Southern Africa Embrace Foundation holds an annual HIV/AIDS brunch every fall in Toronto in order to bring more awareness of these issues and how people can provide support to those affected.
