Estelle and Get Schooled Conqueror School Visit in Brooklyn!

Get Schooled teamed up with Estelle to inspire all our teens with Estelle’s hit song Conqueror. The objective was for students to listen to the song then be inspired to write on what “Conqueror” meant to them. We received over 500 submissions with the main themes being – inspired not to give up, mother as their conqueror and personal issue overcame.

Estelle read the top entries and chose Silvia Belmonte, Senior from Franklin Lane Campus HS in Brooklyn, NY. Silvia and 5 of her closest friends at school hung out with Estelle over lunch asking Estelle about being Conqueror, Empire and advice. After the lunch, about 10 other Franklin Lane student leaders got a meet and greet.

Here’s a bit of Silvia’s essay!

“A conqueror is someone who overcomes his/her own limitations, may be not just by actually “getting rid” of them, but by learning how to live with them and seeing them, not as “limitations”, but rather, as strength to continue on and achieving more than what has been expected of them; and later goes on to defeat that which had appeared undefinable and triumphs over it; even when failure is present, conquerors don’t die because they know that they have put all the effort necessary and beyond for it. And best of all is that their victories benefit more souls than their own.” Silvia B.
