The Friendship Association Education Assistance Hosts 10th Annual Charity Golf Outing

FAEA Golf

Waving hello to all of our readers in the DMV, here’s a feel good event for you to check out. Discover the joy of helping less privileged students get a good education with Friendship Association Education Assistance!

In 1986, the Nigerian Friendship Association (NigFA), a non-profit organization, was formed by Nigerian students and professionals. In 1996, Friendship Association Education Assistance, Inc. (FAEA), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established with the goal of operating exclusively for charitable and educational assistance to underprivileged children. Funds raised during the golf outing will allow FAEA volunteers to provide schools supplies and scholarships to underprivileged children attending public schools in Washington D.C. and Maryland. On Saturday, June 6, 2015 the Friendship Association Education Assistance, Inc. invites YOU to join our 10th Anniversary Charity Golf Outing on June 6, 2015. This year’s event will tee off at the top-rated Blue Mash Golf Course in Laytonsville, Maryland with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. All golfers will receive lunch, dinner and invited to participate in different contests and a raffle to potentially win two tickets to the Black Enterprise Golf and Tennis Challenge in September.

The foundation is currently raising funds to complete a renovation project for Christ Redeemer College (high school) Technical building in Amesi, Anambra, Nigeria. Amesi is in a rural area and very poor; the Christ Redeemer College Amesi Technical Building Renovation project goal is to replace the roof, windows, floor, and chairs, and to provide much needed equipment for the students to gain skills in welding, carpentry, automotive repairs, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and basic computers skills. Once the building is renovated and equipment provided, the Principal of CRC will work with the The Anambra State Education Commission Aguata Zone to continue funding for teachers to provide curriculum and training to students.
