OPPORTUNITIES-PA in conjunction with National Homeless Youth Awareness Month to host Champions for OPPORTUNITIES Event on November 2nd!

OPPORTUNITIES-PA in conjunction with National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, will host their Champions for OPPORTUNITIES fundraiser and reception, November 2, 2011 from 5pm to 9pm. The fundraiser will honor those who not only give of their time, money, and talent, but who also use their platform to empower others to assist homeless teens and young adults. The honorees aptly titled Champions have helped OPPORTUNITIES PA clients secure housing and employment and have encouraged youth to stay in school to reach their career goals. The proceeds from the evening will provide permanent housing for five homeless young adults currently living in shelter and working with OPPORTUNITIES-PA team to complete financial literacy classes. This event will honor the champions of the community who see the growing concern of our disenfranchised youth. The evening will be hosted by Philadelphia native and youth advocate, Dr. Charles (Chuck) William, PhD and 6abc Lifestyle Writer/ Producer Anika Hawkins.

Champions for OPPORTUNITIES will be held at Quorum, located at 3711 Market Street in University City Science Center. Guests will be serenaded by the lovely sounds of violinist Jack Drummond. Ticket can be purchased for just $30.00 and all proceeds benefit OPPORTUNITIES PA, a nonprofit organization in the Philadelphia area.

Privy guests will enjoy food, drinks, gift-bags as well as a fabulous silent auction to accompany the evening’s festivities. “I am elated about this platform to not only honor those that have given their time, their talents and their treasure (money), but selflessly continue to spread the truth about this growing issue that lies within our communities. Without their help, OPPORTUNITIES-PA would falter, for that alone I am grateful,” states CEO and Founder Justina Shaw.
