“Sometimes, people just need the opportunity to be great. We created the scholarship foundation to be an opening of a door; the first step in a new direction. No one should be cheated out a chance at success just because they can’t continue their education. I want to do my part so anyone that really wants it has a chance to achieve their dream. ” -Shawn “JAY Z” Carter

I think that this opportunity is a perfect way to help young mother’s and young boys and give them the chance to better themselves by furthering their education. This could possibly influence all youth in general because the name of this foundation draws alot of our youth to look into this great opportunity. I need this sholarship for numerous reasons.  I want to become a Mortician and own my own funeral home. I am currently in alternative school and in my first trimester of pregnancy. This will be my first child. I am 20 yrs. old and I am thinking about the future of me and my child. I have been writing poetry and singing for a while and i just want to make something of myself. Some people say that getting out of “the hood” is wrong and that I wont amount to anything.  Some think that I will be left on the street as if I’m a prostitute. I am proving them wrong because I’ve found something to do with my.  I am going to live for my child and become a great Mortician. Will you help me to reach my goal? We will forever be thankful that God blessed us.  Please help me.
